Tamworth Car Hire
Tamworth is a market town in the English county of Staffordshire, located about fourteen miles (22.4km) North East of Birmingham. Tamworth is named after the river Tame which runs through the town, together with the river Anker.
The main business's in the town are engineering, brick, clothing, paper and tile manufacturers. Tamworth is also famous for being the home to 'Reliant' car manufacturers, who built the Reliant Robin (three wheeled motor vehicle). The Reliant Motor Company dates back to nineteen thirty five and founded by T.L. Williams. The economical three wheeled vehicle Robin Reliant, and also the sports car Scimitar were built in the town until it moved to Cannock in the late nineteen nineties.
Places of Interest:
Tamworth castle is a Norman castle situated near the river Tame, and dates back to the eleventh century. It is now one of the best preserved castles in the UK, and has many alterations to it over many centuries.
Tamworth is home to SnowDome, which is is the first full sized real snow indoor ski-slope, and is located near the A5 major road. It was opened back in May nineteen ninety four, and is about a hundred and seventy metres long and thirty metres wide. There are two travelator lifts and one rope tow, that carries people back to the top of the slope.
