Telford Car Rental
Telford is a town located in the county of Shropshire, England. It lies about thirty miles (48km) West of Birmingham and thirteen miles (21km) East of Shrewsbury, with a population of around one hundred and seventy five thousand. Telford is named after the famous engineer Thomas Telford, who was a Scottish civil engineer, Stonemason and Artichect and designed built many roads and canals in the county. Telford is a relatively new town and was the result of a merger of smaller towns and villages, including Dawley, Oakengates, Madeley and Wellington.
The town is home to many large IT companies, including Fujitsu, Capgemini and EDS who has the MOD contract from the site at Euston Park. Fujitsu employ many local people, and Her Majesty's Revenue And Customs are one of their biggest clients. The town centre of Telford is situated off Junction 5 of the M54 motorway, and houses the administrative HQ of Telford and Wrekin Council. There is also a shopping centre in the town centre, and a large Park with many animals including bats, grey squirels, voles, mice, shrews and many more.
There are three train stations in Telford (on the Woverhampton to Shrewsbury line), Oakengates, Telford Central and Wellington. There are not many traffic jams in the town due to the M54 motorway, which reduces the amount of vehicles on the local roads.
